Purpose
The Career Studies Certificate in Law Enforcement (Plan Code 221-463-01) provides students with the foundational skills necessary to pursue a career in law enforcement and other areas of criminal justice. The curriculum features classes related to the general system of American criminal justice, an introduction to criminal law and juvenile delinquency, and specific course related to law enforcement operations at a basic and intermediate level. Course in the program may be eligible for transfer into programs at four-year schools.
Program Requirements and Special Conditions
Students must meet ESCC admission requirements. Students must also complete placement tests (or equivalent) in English and mathematics, and scores will be used for appropriate course placement. If students have deficiencies in English and/or mathematics, ESCC offers developmental and prerequisite courses to prepare students for the curriculum. New students should see a counselor and returning students their advisor for more information.
