Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician Assistant, Career Studies Certificate

Purpose

This program (Plan Code 221-903-12) is designed to build upon the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Career Studies Certificate (CSC), creating a pathway to the Associate in Applied Science degree.  Students planning to work as HVAC Technicians will have the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized credential through the EPA certification examination. Classes count toward the Journeyman and Master state license in HVAC.

Program Requirements and Special Conditions

Students must meet ESCC admission requirements. New students should see a counselor and returning students their advisor for more information.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wire control systems from electrical diagrams, and repair faults in electrical control systems.
  • Properly size and install HVAC systems using current and appropriate codes and industry practices.
  • Diagnose, repair faults, and perform maintenance on HVAC systems.
