Welding Level 1 (NCCER)

The NCCER Welding Level 1 course introduces students to essential knowledge and skills for a career in welding. Key topics covered include Welding Safety, understanding general safety practices and common hazards, welding techniques, training in oxyfuel cutting, plasma arc cutting, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). Students also learn about base metals, joint design, and quality workmanship, including weld quality. This foundational course prepares students for further advancement in the welding field, and is the academic equivalent to WEL 123. NCCER Core is a prerequisite.
