Purpose:
The Associate of Science in Engineering (831) offers students the opportunity to take a general education curriculum core with an emphasis on engineering. The engineering program prepares students for transfer to a four-year institution where they can specialize in engineering disciplines.
Program Learning Outcomes:
- Students will analyze and interpret experimental results and/or data to make engineering problem decisions.
- Students will use math, science, and engineering concepts to describe, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
- Students will communicate the results of design and/or analysis orally and through text and graphics.
- Students will work effectively in teams.
Passport and UCGS Transfer Courses
All courses in the Engineering program, except SDV 100 College Success Skills, have the potential to be used as courses to meet a requirement in the Virginia Passport milestone and the Uniform Certificate of General Studies. Students wishing to complete the Virginia Passport or earn the Uniform Certificate of General Studies should consult those pages in the catalog when selecting courses for the A. S. Engineering program.
