Phlebotomy Technician

Prepares students to take the NCCT Phlebotomy Technician certification exam, and to be hired as a professional phlebotomy technician dedicated to the art of blood withdrawal. Graduates will be equipped to prepare the patient, perform venipuncture and assist to maintain the quality of the specimen. The program goal is to prepare competent entry-level phlebotomy technicians in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. It also is an appropriate certification for practitioners of other related healthcare occupations (such as LPNs, RNs, Medical Assistants, Clinical Lab Technicians).
Students will learn in both didactic (classroom) and clinical environments, and will be required to successfully perform at least 25 “sticks.”
To register, students should meet with a Workforce Services staff member/FastForward Career Coach.
