Business Administration, Associate of Science

The Business Administration Associate of Science (Plan Code 213) is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in business administration, accounting, management, marketing, or another business-related programs.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

  • Present basic accounting and economics information numerically, symbolically, and graphically
  • Describe basic business, accounting, and economics concepts

Passport and UCGS Transfer Courses

All courses in the Business Administration program, except SDV 100 College Success Skills, have the potential to be used as courses to meet a requirement in the Virginia Passport milestone and the Uniform Certificate of General Studies. Students wishing to complete the Virginia Passport or earn the Uniform Certificate of General Studies should consult those pages in the catalog when selecting courses for the A. S. Business Administration program.

1. Students who intend to take MTH 263 in Semester 2 should select MTH 167 in order to fulfill the prerequisite requirement.

2. Students may select any of the following History courses: HIS 101, HIS 102, HIS 111, HIS 112, HIS 121, HIS 122. 

3. Students may substitute CST 110 for CST 100. Consult transfer institution to ensure that the substitution is appropriate for intended transfer program. 

4. To satisfy the BUS Core requirements, students may select any of the following: BUS 200, BUS 274, MKT 201, BUS 227, BUS 270, BUS 280, ITE 140. Consult transfer institution to ensure that the substitution is appropriate for intended transfer program. 

5. Students may select from eligible Humanities courses other than Philosophy courses. Eligible courses are listed under General Education Core Requirements. Students should consult with academic advisor or counselor to choose the appropriate course(s). 

6. Students may select from eligible Science with Lab courses. Eligible courses are listed under General Education Core Requirements. Students should consult with an academic advisor or counselor to choose the appropriate course(s).
