STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (SGA)

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the official representative of the student body. All credit students may participate in SGA elections. Full-time and part-time students with a 2.50 GPA or higher are eligible to run for office (up to two part-time students may serve). The SGA organizes most student activities at the college, recommends student representation on major college committees, and consults with college officials on matters of concern to the student body.
ALL CHRISTIANS TOGETHER IN SERVICE (ACTS)

The All Christians Together in Service (ACTS) organization is a non-denominational, Christian-based organization.
The ACTS statement of faith is as follows: To support the body of believers at the Eastern Shore Community College and to further the cause of Christ by performing outreach on campus as well as throughout the Eastern Shore community.
HEALTH OCCUPATIONS STUDENTS OF AMERICA (HOSA)

The Health Occupations Students of America organization is a state and national vocational club for secondary and post-secondary students in health occupations such as vocational nurse’s aide program, practical nursing, EMT, veterinary assistant, dental assistant, etc. The group sponsors state and national level competitions in the various vocational areas in addition to leadership competitions. Career readiness is promoted via public speaking, resume preparation, and job interviewing.
PHI BETA LAMBDA (PBL)

The purpose of Phi Beta Lambda is to provide opportunities for post-secondary and college students to develop vocational competencies for business, office occupations, and business teacher education. Phi Beta Lambda is an integral part of the instructional program and, in addition, promotes a sense of civic and personal responsibility.
PHI THETA KAPPA (PTK)
CHRISTINA DUFFMAN, RM. 231 AND JOSHUA TAYLOR, RM 233, ADVISORS
Phi Theta Kappa is a national honor society for two-year colleges, which recognizes scholarship among associate degree students. Also, it provides opportunities for leadership, service and fellowship. To become a member, a student must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program, have accumulated full-time status (at least 12 hours) in courses leading to an associate degree, have established a grade point average of 3.20, be of good moral character, and possess recognized qualities of citizenship.

The Current is a literary magazine showcasing original ESCC student writing, photography, and art. Submissions are collected throughout the year and compiled into a magazine published annually.

This organization is committed to assisting the community-at-large. The organization accomplishes its mission by providing friendship, fellowship, and service opportunities.
THE CHESS CLUB

The Chess Club is designed to provide friendly competition amongst ESCC students, faculty, and the overall community. The mission is to extend altruism to the community as well as welcome any and all who’d like to join. We share in the art of playing chess and promoting critical thinking skills. All skill levels are welcome to join.
THE VISUAL ARTS CLUB

To promote student creativity and talent in the visual arts. The club includes all forms of visual art such as photography, painting, sculpting etc. All students are welcome. We will participate in art shows to display student work, both on campus and the Parksley Art Gallery. Student art will be considered by the Eastern Shore Art Association for display in the Parksley Art Gallery as well. This club will meet periodically with advanced notice via email. Some meetings will be virtual; some will be face to face.
PSYCHOLOGY CLUB

To promote the practical consideration of psychological concepts. Students will participate in fundraisers, community events and field trips. All students are welcome. This organization is a group of students enrolled in pre-career and career Health and Medical Sciences programs. It provides programs and activities which develop physical, mental, and social well-being, leadership, character, respect for the dignity of work, and citizenship.
